Enhance Recovery
Glutamine is a protein amino acid found in proteins of all life forms.
L-Glutamine is considered an conditionally essential amino acid, meaning that the
body produces enough under normal circumstances. However, when undergoing extreme
metabolic stress the body can become
L-Glutamine deficient, which can cause
immunosuppresion and skeletal muscle catabolism.*
Supplemental L-Glutamine has numerous positive effects on the body under
such circumstances:*
- L-Glutamine may have a anticatabolic effect on skeletal muscle tissue.
- L-Glutamine may be an immunomodulatory substance. It does so by by protecting
the integrity of the gastrointestinal tract and by supporting the proliferation of
Lymphocytes.
- L-Glutamine may have antioxidant activity.
